Well that was unexpected

Hi all out there. My jaw is, at the moment, unrecoverably hanging open at the unexpected outcome of an earlier adventure.

Here was the post of my crazy idea:

Let's run some ideas past you...

Okay. 8:28 am on wednesday, I've finished all my homework for the day. Now I have until 6pm to keep myself busy.

I think I'll apply for a $10 000 grant.

Actually, I'm serious.

Let me run the idea past ya - I think its a need which needs filling.

There's a big gap at the moment between the general level of computer literacy (i.e. none) and the level of computer literacy that the University expects.

It's strange that the Uni will run maths bridging courses, but not have anything in the way of technology bridging. There's an especially large gap for mature age students, who haven't grown up with technology.

I want to run a one day per week for five weeks program which will ground people in things like excel, powerpoint, word, internet surfing, etc. What I was wondering, what else do you think would need to be covered - maybe scanning etc? Also, would the five week thing work, or should it be an intensive one or two day course?

Help help help... this is the point that I realise that not only have I bitten off more than I can chew, but what I thought was a lovely piece of green lobster bisk is the tail of a crocodile.

:) But you know me, I'll handle it fine.

Deck the halls with shelves of savings...

This morning on my way to work I passed the Myer centre. This is an approximation of what I saw inside:

I uttered a silent prayer for the retinas of consumers this Christmas. So much light, only so many optical receivers.

So how bout you out there in Blogland? What are you hoping to get for Christmas? What are you giving for Christmas?

Yuh-may...

Courtesy of our friends in Japan, here's a little taste of what you could expect from Japanese pizza (pun intended) :)

They seem to have a penchant for putting things like eggplant, corn etc on their pizza. At approximately AU$25, you'd hope that they're good...

Another year over, another year closer...

Wow. Exams are over for me :) All assignments in, and I just have to hand in my music portfolio by Friday. Things are all set to change.

By the way. A little tip for the future - you can learn from my silliness. When you put your car in for a service, make sure you keep asking for a quote and making sure you can pay the full amount. Otherwise you won't get your car back. I'm not whingeing, it was my fault for not asking for a quote, but make sure you can pay :)

Hmm... I've been told that the new Mr Darcy, although not as hot, has that 'something' that Johnny Depp has. Hmm... this is creating an imbalance in the force, there be too many young men who make women blush just by having their top button undone.

What is there for us mere mortals to do?

There unfortunately seems to be no formula that defines this "blushing" quality that some men have. Mr Darcy (the new one) can't even be called attractive by the girls, but he's still making them swoon and perspire lightly by the thousands.

I think it's just something that happens in the movies... we can't control anything. I mean think about it - if any male nowadays were to unbutton their top two buttons, we'd be brushed aside pretty quickly. Ladies, don't say it depends on who's unbuttoned their top two buttons, the most gorgeous guy you can imagine with his top two buttons thrown asunder can only look as good as a pimp.

Anyway. That's my tirade for today. I'm off to enjoy the smell of freedom. It smells like twisties and dvd's.
