Does God want us to be rich?
I found this on another website, it's quite... interesting to say the least!

As the other guy said on his blog, the short answer is, No. The long answer is, feel free to be rich, but don't store up treasures here on Earth. Use them wisely to build up treasures in Heaven.
Does anyone know anything more about J Creflo Jnr? I've seen his program once while I was up late... weird stuff :) Also the Chaser's war on everything made fun of them recently, go to www.abc.net.au/thechaser to have a look at their take on things.

Hey, not related to this post in any way, but just wanted to say that you did a great job with your sermon. Unfortunately a certain little person prevented me from hearing the second half but i'm sure it was as good as the first half so well done! Hope we can hear you again soon, and definitely let us know if you are preaching again :)
I concur fully, well done sir. I did enjoy it, though I'm a little confused as to your specific mentioning of the whole "new fervent Christian" notion. Perhaps not so much confused as wondering generally. Anyways, well done in any case. As for the actual topic...I'm a fairly fervent believer against prosperity doctrine. I think God blesses people in different ways, not just in monetary terms. Some may get rich, some may not.
wow...this is big stuff. i agree with Rick Warren when he says "It's creating a false idol". sure, our almighty God may bless some of us with wealth, but he does that because He wants to. but likewise, he has it in His will to have some, no not some, millions of his followers in poverty, because that is what He wants. both groups are blessed in different ways, and both are plagued by problems differently.
but really, at the end of time, what matters our earthly wealth? we cannot take it with us, and besides, with God's promise of such blessings and wonder in heaven, who would want to?!
however much wealth God chooses to bless me with, i will aim to be content in that. millionaire, joe-average salary, welfare beneficiary or poverty-stricken hobo, it's what God grants me.
