Cairns pt 2
Australia's premier regional city, Cairns is the international gateway into Tropical North Queensland, and carries with pride the mantle of safest tropical city in the world.
Residents of the area are also proud to be custodians of two of the world’s greatest natural treasures - the Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics Rainforests. Both of these wonderful attractions are World Heritage listed, and there are very few places on Earth where two such treasures rest side by side.
Cairns International Airport is the nation’s sixth busiest in terms of international and domestic passenger movements, and the city also is rated the third most popular tourist destination in the country after Sydney and Brisbane. More than three million international and domestic passenger movements were recorded during 2003/04.
The city is a vital, cosmopolitan centre and its residents enjoy an enviable tropical lifestyle.
The peak tourism body for the region is Tourism Tropical North Queensland, which receives annual funding from Cairns City Council each financial year for promotion, marketing and convention marketing.

did you write all those or did you copy it from somewhere?
cool, i was going to ask for a picture of a beach.....heh, i got a picture of the whole of cairns now, thanx :-)
Just curious... are you aspiring to become a tourist guide????? :)
hehehe tourist guide... i just copied the info from the Cairns website :)
the word verification is very descriptive today for some reason... 'sifgemfx'
Careful Luke... Cairns City Council knows where you live...
and they have cricket bats. they really do!
This is Cairns, they have a crack crocodile squad.
Crikey, that's aggressive! :-p
*sniff* Lukey's home kids, I saw him with my very own eyes *sniff*
(He gave me a hug, I'm not gonna wash for days...)
Um...Matt? You might wanna think about having a shower or something now. ;-)
S'ok, I have to take a flight with Virgin Blue on Boxing Day, so I think I'll have to shower to be let on the plane...
***was going to write a comment here about keeping the bath water but I freaked myself out too muchly and decided not to write it after all***
And ya'll be happy to know Lukey has agreed to play at the Christmas Eve service... on the world's best piano, the Roland RD700SX.
And where might you be off to on Boxing Day?
*Keeping the bath water? What, so you can have another bath later? Well, we are on water restrictions here in Brissie..... :-p *
BRISBANE: Level 2 water restrictions.
WAYS TO SAVE WATER:
1) Stop drinking it. Just stop it!
2) No more showers or baths. None. Cut those out! Move on.
3)You must only wash clothes on every 5th day, only on months with an 'r' in them.
4) Forget flushing your toilet. Get that shovel out and re-acquaint yourself with your backyard - in a way you probably never have before.
5) Watering your garden is still okay.
So, you guys have a Roland *insert numbers and letters here* eh.....we have a Roland *insert similar numbers and letters here* at our church too. :-) We had our annual 'bush communion' tonight - i.e. damper and red juice for bread and wine and we all sit outside. In the 5 years I've been playing for church, I've never had to play for this - until tonight......
*actually it went well, but maybe I'll put that on my blog - this comment is turning into a post of its own!*
Well, I'm coming down to the South East corner to make sure you're all behaving... Bouncing back and forth between Brisbane and Gold Coast (or driving, if you prefer).
If you go to the same church as Lukey, he tells me they have a Roland RD700. Mine's an RD700SX. The difference is in the SX, that's my motto.
(I've heard some people think it's obsessive to talk about a keyboard in such a way, but I think they're just weird...)
P.S. I think the word-verification system just swore at me.
Yeah, word verification has taken a turn for the worse - nfwgo.
Crikey.
Have fun down this end of the state :-) Behaving? As if.
But since we're all in the habit of migrating, I'm nicking off to southern NSW and taking my mischief with me :-)
I don't go to Luke's church. But our church's keyboard is similar to theirs.
P.S. Wonder if Luke minds that his blog is currently being used as a sort of free email service? :-p
Somebody's gotta keep his blog active while he's busy writing computer training manuals...
ah, is that what he's up to. sounds....um....fun.
cjubxftt - what kind of a word verification is THAT?!
cjubxftt
cats jump up but xylophones fail to tantalise...
boxwtaw
aww... it made a 3 letter word... I'm so proud...
It must be growing up.
Ha. I think not :-p
box with tape and wahoo - Bob's your uncle.
iwokp
Nic, what do you mean, similar? besides the grand piano at your church, your keyboard is an RD700, exactly the same one as ours :)
xpifp
ah. well. in that case.
wvnczxnj!!!!
told u it knows me - it always gives me tough word verifications. luckily it's the crack of noon and i just got up!
How come this is the "Nicola and Matt have a private chat" forum/chatroom? WFhy don't I have a personalised chat room/forum?!?!? I blame you Luke, this si your blog after all.
(z and x in word verification, what's up with that?)
