Okay matt, you win, again :P

But matt, you're gonna lose in this competition :)

Everyone, here is the time-wasting competition to end all time-wasting competitions.

With everyone finishing exams soon and having way too much time on their hands then they know what to do with, I'm going to give you something to fill that void.

Monster Invasion

This is a small, addictive flash game - and it ranks you on the all time greatest scores. A friend in Cairns is in the top 10. I am so going to beat him today, I have 8 hours to kill here at work.

Anyway, post your best scores up in the comments section - Matt, put yours up as a benchmark.

Wow, I'm so proud, my name made the title of a Lukus blog entry.

But anyway, my best ranking ever was no. 17 on the ALL-TIME scores (daily high scores count for nothing). Unfortunately, as the game has gained popularity, more freaks with too much time have come and knocked me down to rank 22. I'll get them next time...

My score was 36348. (If you do the maths, at 25 points per second, that score took almost 25 minutes to achieve).

Game on :-)

(P.S. It's great at developing your multi-tasking skills, but maybe that's just me trying to rationalise so much time wasting.)

I'm beginning to think this is all some big social experiment where at the end of each day a scientist in some dark seedy lab somewhere adds up all the scores for the day and calculates how much time this mindless game has consumed world-wide in a 24-hour period.

But it's so fun...

Hmm, they've changed it as of yesterday, it's getting harder to get higher scores - pat, see what you can get now :)

Changed it how?

More monsters at a greater frequency?

I thought it just didn't like me.

I'll be down there from Boxing Day for a week or three, Pat. But I think Luke might be in Cairns while I'm down there, so he won't be able to show me the sights of his friends.

Maybe he'll charter a plane and bring you all to Cairns one day... I think you should remind him of that idea every time you talk to him for six months and see what happens...

For noof:

Word verification is "ogpauuul". Do you know anyone named Paul? Could they be the mastermind behind the word verification system? Perhaps there's a young boy named Paul who is locked away in a room and has to come up with a verification word every time we want to post and he's trying to break free of his imprisonment by putting desperate pleas in the verification words. Or perhaps there's too much sugar in my Turkish Delight ice-cream. Has anyone else noticed the trend of making popular chocolate of 90's into ice-cream for the naughties? This section for noof was only gonna be a short comment but somewhere along the way went off track. I blame Monster Invasion.

Monster Invasion, turkish delight ice-cream....blame whatever you want, but you may be on to something here ;-)

Unfortunately I don't know anyone called Paul. :-( Sorry.

However, that doesn't mean there isn't a Paul trapped behind a computer screen, desperately trying to communicate. But if that's the case, why doesn't he just start his own blog?

My word verification: tkxia.

This isn't promising. :-p

Lol I see they've now updated the front screen to show the number of hours wasted playing the game... 1077.49. Ouch!
